The Story of Eden Pasticceria

Every dream has a beginning.

Ours didn’t start with a Pasticceria.

It didn’t start with awards, beautiful cakes or a full café.

It started in 2021, during one of the most uncertain moments in modern history.

While the world was slowing down during COVID, Eden was born as an online project.

It wasn’t created to build a business. It was created to keep a sense of community alive through food,

tradition and human connection.

Many of you will remember those days.

When flour disappeared from supermarket shelves, Daniele shared what he had with the community

so families could continue baking at home. It wasn’t about making money. It was simply

about helping others during a difficult time.

That spirit of giving became the heart of Eden.

Long before Australia, Daniele had already built a career that many dream of. He had become a

multi-award-winning pastry chef, recognised internationally for his work and craftsmanship.

But when Mary and Daniele arrived in Australia, none of that mattered.

They arrived with no family, no financial support, no connections and very little English.

Just two people carrying a dream.

Like so many migrants, they started from the very beginning.

Daniele worked as a kitchen hand, putting his pride aside and rebuilding everything from scratch.

Ironically, his experience and international recognition often worked against him. Instead of opening doors,

they sometimes made people see him as a competitor rather than someone simply looking for an opportunity to work hard.

There were setbacks.

There were disappointments.

There were moments when giving up would have been easier.

But then something incredible happened.

The Inner West embraced them.

Complete strangers became friends.

Customers became family.

Many people tried speaking whatever Italian they knew just to make Mary and Daniele

feel at home while they were learning English one conversation at a time.

Those moments will never be forgotten.

For two people who had left everything behind, those small acts of kindness

\meant more than words could ever express.

They created a feeling that has guided every decision we’ve made ever since.

If a community could welcome us with so much generosity, then we wanted to spend

our lives giving that generosity back.

That is what Eden has always been.

Not just a place to buy bread, coffee or pastries.

A place where people know your name.

A place where stories are shared over a coffee.

A place where everyone feels involved, welcomed and genuinely loved.

A place that feels like home.

Since opening the doors of our physical shop, something truly beautiful has happened.

So many of you have welcomed us with incredible generosity.

You’ve walked through our doors carrying gifts that have now become part of Eden’s soul.

The beautiful candelabra.

The mustard armchairs.

The antique plates that we proudly use to serve you every single day.

The vintage decorations, little treasures and thoughtful pieces that now fill every corner of our shop.

Every single item tells a story.

Every time we light the candles, welcome someone to sit in those armchairs or serve a cake

on one of those antique plates, we’re reminded that they came from someone who wanted

to leave a little piece of themselves with us.

You haven’t just supported our business.

You’ve helped build our home.

When people tell us that Eden feels warm, welcoming and full of love, it means more than you’ll ever know.

Because that’s exactly what we dreamed of creating.

Knowing that the love we try to give every single day is truly felt is one of the greatest gifts we could ever receive.

It is deeply moving.

It is humbling.

And it is overwhelmingly beautiful.

Today, when we look around Eden, we don’t just see what Mary and Daniele have built.

We see what all of us have built together.

Every coffee you’ve shared with us.

Every birthday cake you’ve trusted us to create.

Every wedding.

Every celebration.

Every recommendation to a friend.

Every kind message.

Every smile.

Every visit.

Every hug.

Every single one has helped turn a dream into reality.

We are incredibly proud of how far we’ve come.

Not because of the awards.

Not because of the recognition.

But because two people who arrived in Australia with almost nothing except hope have

been able to build a home, surrounded by a community that believed in them.

Eden exists because of you just as much as it exists because of us.

Thank you for welcoming us.

Thank you for believing in us.

Thank you for supporting our dream.

Thank you for every conversation, every recommendation, every hug, every thoughtful gift and every act of kindness.

Most of all, thank you for making us feel that we found a family on the other side of the world.

The journey continues with the same passion, the same values and the same promise we made from day one.

To create something honest.

Something beautiful.

Something that brings people together.

Something that will always feel like home.

With all our love and endless gratitude,

Mary & Daniele
